Lindfield brace gives FC United victory over Avro FC

Two second half Craig Lindfield goals gave FC United a 2-1 victory over Avro FC in what was a tough and sometimes physical pre-season test.

Robbie McDaid saw his first half penalty for the Reds well saved before the home team took the lead not long before the break converting their own spot kick.

The Reds came back well in the second half and Lindfield levelled early on with a well-placed effort from the edge of the box, before being given the opportunity to add another not long after when the Reds were awarded another penalty.

Lindfield fired home to grab his third goal in two games this week following his strike at Congleton Town on Tuesday.

The win is the third successive victory of the pre-season campaign for FC United, who travel to near neighbours Salford City on Saturday afternoon.
