FC United's Sporting Memories group brings people together each week to share stories, memories and conversations inspired by the world of sport.
Established in 2016, the group works alongside the national charity Sporting Memories Foundation to help tackle social isolation and loneliness, create meaningful social connections, and support health and wellbeing through the power of shared sporting memories.
While football often features in discussions, the sessions explore all sports and sporting history, from iconic matches and unforgettable moments to legendary athletes, famous events and local sporting memories. Sessions regularly include guest speakers, historic footage and videos, quizzes, group discussions and occasional outings, providing plenty of opportunities to learn, reminisce and make new friends.
The group has built a welcoming community of regular members and is open to everyone, particularly those who may be feeling isolated, experiencing loneliness, or looking for opportunities to meet new people in a friendly and supportive environment.
Whether you're a lifelong sports fan or simply enjoy good conversation and company, you'll be made very welcome.
