Academy Ethos
FC United of Manchester is committed to being a football club that will provide a social benefit to its community, and our Academy is an integral part of that vision. Our programme provides the opportunity for young footballers aged between 16 and 19 years old to experience a full-time sports environment, whilst studying a varied and respected education curriculum.
We have excellent on-site facilities, ranging from recently refurbished classrooms and a full-size state-of-the-art 3G pitch. Located in Moston, at the heart of north Manchester, we are determined to use football as a benefit for the local community, unlocking the potential of young people from across the city.
Our UEFA A licenced coaches will deliver high quality training sessions, giving the students the best opportunities to develop their game to the highest level, with the aim to progress into FC United’s first team.
The focus of our programme is on equipping students with a variety of skills that ensure they have the best possible chance of future employment within the football industry, and that is why we have partnered up with industry leaders SCL to shape our educational offering. SCL will deliver the Northern Council for Further Education (NCFE) Level 2 & 3 (equivalent to 3 A Levels).
The NCFE Level 3 course will offer students the chance to earn UCAS points to apply for university courses, and over the 2-year programme various UK universities and American footballing scholarship colleges will be invited to make presentations to the students demonstrating how they can progress into a football career.
