Still time to volunteer for our committee structure!

Our co-owners will know we’re setting up a range of committees at FC United, as part of our new management structure which will support the club in achieving its five-year Vision and plan.

Places on the committee are open to co-owners who have the skills and experience we need.

So far, around 30 co-owners with great quality CVs and experience have confirmed their interest in being involved, including members of the existing committees.

The window to apply is open until the end of December so if you’ve been thinking about it, please do come forward.

As an equal opportunities club which discriminates against no-one, we’re particularly keen to receive applications from a wider pool of people from diverse backgrounds. We’re also offering ‘associate’ committee membership for younger people who are perhaps just starting to build their skills and experience but want to get involved now.

What are the committees?

The committees are:

  • Commercial
  • Communications
  • Community
  • Co-ownership
  • Football
  • Strategy & Governance (formerly the Stakeholder Relations Committee)

What time commitment will it involve?

We anticipate the committees will meet between six and eight times per year, with conferencing technology available so your location wouldn’t be an issue.

There would be some work to be done between the meetings, but this will be shared across all committee members to be done at your own pace to agreed timings.

What skills are you looking for?

You can read a short set of slides on the club’s official forum here which set out the kind of skills and experience we are looking for, per committee (or refer to the club email from December 14th which included the links). If you have other skills not listed and are keen to be involved, please apply and we will discuss options with you.

What will the committees actually do?

Members of each committee will be using their experience and expertise in key areas to help us progress our growth plans, making recommendations for the elected board to consider.

For example, the Co-ownership committee will be working on ideas and proposals to increase co-owner engagement and how we operate democratically. While the Communications committee will write an annual communications plan and agree with the board the messaging about what we stand for, as well as considering new output content across our media.

How do I get involved?

To express an interest:

If you are not yet a co-owner of FC United, there’s never been a better time to sign up and get involved. You can buy a membership via our shop here.

Please get involved if you can

Thank you very much to those co-owners who have come forward to volunteer for one of our committees.

It’s an exciting opportunity for co-owners to become more involved in helping to run the club at a time when we’ll be implementing ambitious growth plans.

This is a fantastic opportunity for co-owners to step up and help run the club at an exciting stage – we are poised to grow and develop the club for the future.

So if you can, please get involved and be a part of it.
