FC United of Manchester Academy 'B' team travelled to Stockport Sports Village on Friday afternoon and came away with a creditable 1-1 draw against Stockport County Academy Friday 1sts in their latest Friday friendly development fixture.
The Young Reds opened the scoring on 16 minutes when JOSH BERGMAN finished from a narrow angle after the home keeper had failed to properly deal with an Aaron Hughes shot.
Ten minutes later, Stockport drew level when the home No. 5 bundled home the loose ball after an effort moments earlier had come back off the foot of the post.
On 60 minutes, FC United substitute Rafa Jalo was unlucky to see a shot hit the crossbar, as also was Stockport's No. 11 at the other end on 71 minutes.
The home side looked to have grabbed a late winner on 78 minutes, but the "goal" was disallowed or an infringement in the build up.
And FC's Kieran Newton shot well wide in the 89th minute after latching on to a Liam Percival clearance, but that was as close as they Young Reds got in the closing stages.
