STOCKPORT COUNTY ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT 2nd XI 5 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'B' TEAM 1
FC United of Manchester 'B' team's visit to the Stockport Sports Village on 5th November (Bonfire Night) proved to be something of a damp squib as the Young Reds went down to a 1-5 away defeat against a lively Stockport County Academy Development 2nd XI, in their latest Friday friendly development fixture.
The writing was on the wall as early as the 2nd minute, as the home side's Number 9 opened the scoring, before their Number 11 netted a second goal on 32 minutes.
A third on 37 minutes by Stockport's Number 17 gave the home side a deserved 3-0 interval lead.
FC United briefly rallied after the half time break, substitute LEWIS URSA first hitting the crossbar on 59 minutes before netting on 66 minutes with a trademark breakaway goal which was adjudged to have just beaten the offside trap.
But any hopes of a comeback were quickly dashed on 70 minutes when Stockport's number 16 slotted home a shot that had come back off an upright, before the same player concluded the scoring with a fifth goal for County on 86 minutes.
