STOCKPORT COUNTY ACADEMY FRIDAY 1sts 5 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 4

FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team will be wondering just how they managed to go down by the odd goal in nine, this after at one point being three goals up against Stockport County Academy Friday 1sts in a re-arranged Friday Development fixture at Stockport Sports Village on Wednesday afternoon, originally scheduled for a Friday in early January but postponed due to snow.

GOLD BADMUS had given the Young Reds the lead after just 65 seconds when he netted from a left wing cross, before the same player, GOLD BADMUS added a second from a more central position on 3 minutes.

AARON HUGHES, at the second attempt, then made it 3-0 on six minutes before the Stockport side pulled one back on nine minutes when their No. 9 steered a loose ball high into the corner of the net beyond 'keeper Frankie Pitt.

On 20 minutes, the home side then hit an upright, and less than a minute later, they did have the ball in the net, Emmanuel Johnson giving away the penalty, before Stockport's No. 7 sent Frankie Pitt the wrong way from the twelve yard mark.

And it was little surprise when a resurgent Stockport side first levelled on 25 minutes, their unmarked No. 9 side footing home for 3-3, and then took the lead on 34 minutes, their No. 9 completing his hat-trick from a second penalty kick, this time conceded by Serigne Ndiaye, to give the home side a 4-3 lead at half time.

After Aaron Hughes had blazed a 61st minute free kick over the home crossbar,  LEWIS URSA then restored parity for FC United on 70 minutes to make it 4-4, but it was the home side who had the final say, their substitute No. 14 netting what subsequently proved to be the winner on 73 minutes as he rolled the ball into the temporarily unguarded FC United goal.
