MATCH ABANDONED AFTER 82 MINUTES FOLLOWING A SERIOUS PLAYER INJURY.
FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team's home Friday friendly development fixture against Stockport County Academy 2nds on the Broadhurst Park 3G had to be abandoned after 82 minutes following an head injury to the away team's substitute goalkeeper.
The scoreline at the time was a 5-2 lead for the visitors but the key consideration was for prompt and effective treatment to be given to the stricken player.
FC United had gotten off to a bright start with GOLD BADMUS rounding Stockport's first half goalkeeper for the opening goal on just 4 minutes.
On 8 minutes, FC United captain FRANKIE BOLGER (o.g.) was unlucky to glance a curling inswinging free kick past his own 'keeper for the visitors' equaliser.
Six minutes later, Stockport edged in front through their No. 9, before their No. 8 then made it 1-3 on 25 minutes.
Into the second half and a close range finish from the visitors' No. 16 made it 1-4 on 55 minutes, before the same player added his second on 66 minutes for 1-5.
GOLD BADMUS bundled home a consolation goal for FC United on 80 minutes for 2-5, but with the Stockport substitute goalkeeper having sustained his injury in the build up, that was to prove to be the end of the afternoon's proceedings.
