FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 3 STOCKPORT COUNTY YOUTH 2

FC United of Manchester Youth team recovered from being a goal down against Stockport County Youth at half-time to win this closely contested National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league fixture by three goals to two on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

WILL SHAWCROSS had put the Young Reds in front after just 7 minutes when he netted from a Cameron Horner cross only for Stockport to draw level on 14 minutes when CALLUM SCOTT scored from the penalty spot after Ben Fletcher was adjudged to have fouled an opposition player.

Worse was to follow for the home side when REECE REHOUMA latched on to the end of a long free-kick on 41 minutes to steer the ball past Sulaiman Sajjad in the FC United goal.

On 51 minutes, WILL SHAWCROSS dragged the home side back into the game with a long range effort - set up by Robbie Brown - that gave the visiting goalkeeper little chance.

And on 80 minutes, MIKE JONES made sure of the result with an equally spectacular long range shot (the assist courtesy of the hard-working Steve Affleck) to seal a third league win of the season (out of three games) for the FC United youth team.

The youth team’s next home fixture is vs Carlisle United Youth in the 1st Round Proper of the F.A. Youth Cup on Tuesday 1st November 2016 (Broadhurst Park - Main pitch: Kick-off: 7.45 p.m.)
