A little bit of understanding is required

Supporters are asked to bear in mind the ground regulations associated with our playing at Gigg Lane.

There have been some minor issues lately which we all need to address. Our working relationship with Bury FC over these last two seasons has proved a good one. Bury FC understand the nature of our support and their desire to stand whilst watching FC play the attacking brand of football we all want to see. A vocal and vibrant crowd is seen as an important part of the match day experience for both sets of players, visiting fans and league officials. However, we must always bear in mind that we are working with Bury FC and their staff and stewards to maintain a safe environment.

The relationship which allows us to stand does so because we adhere to, in as much as possible, ground regulations. They specify that all stairs and walkways must be kept clear. This allows stewards eas of movement around stands to deal with any medical emergencies or the other many and various issues which arise on any given match day. The walkway at the back of the MRE is one are which needs to be kept clear to allow stewards safety access and we would ask fans to cooperate.

Banging the seats and the back of the stand creates a great deal of noise but is also causing damage. The MRE was closed last season because of damage done to the rear of the stand. We would hope that this does not happen again this season and that all fans respect and understand the job of the stewards within the ground. If fans feel that they have any reason to complain about the actions of any steward then please contact the club offices.
