Put your hands up for your programme

Saturday’s programme has soul as its soundtrack. Dominic Sagar has written a cracking piece about the links between Manchester and Detroit and the plans in the latter to set up a club paying homage to the former.

As Dominic says upon visiting the music-mad home of Motown for the first time: "When they asked where I was from, instead of the usual ‘Ahhh Manchester – Manchester United, Bobby Charlton, Georgie Best, Denis Law,’ it was ‘Ahhh Manchester – Joy Division, Factory Records, The Hacienda’."

Soul is music from the heart and helps sooth us in times of strife, which is appropriate after Tuesday night’s defeat. Manager Margy is very forthright in his notes in Saturday’s programme and much of what he says is music to the ears of those of us who witnessed the game.

Our favourite red army veteran Tom Stott delves into the history books to reveal the glorious FA Cup traditions of our visitors Blyth Spartans. Tom had a great time in the reverse fixture up in the north east and it shows as he joyously details how the Spartans have caused many shocks in the grand old cup competition. We have managed to get hold of a few artefacts for you to look at too.

Wayne Clark on the other hand, is a man of the present... He recently carried out a top interview with FC’s newest striker Tom Greaves. Enjoy Greavesy revealing how he went from sinner to saint in the eyes of FC fans.

We have a bumper news section for you, the usual ace pictures, stats, match reports and an interesting Meet the Owners too. All for £2.

Our crack team of sellers will be around Gigg Lane to cater for your buying needs and the programme will be available on pdf from the club shop website. Visit ’programme downloads’ in the ’programmes & binders’ section of shop
