Sam Ashton suspension appeal - unsuccessful

FC United’s appeal against Sam Ashton’s red card versus Northwich Victoria on 9th April has been unsuccessful and he must serve a three game ban starting this Saturday against Matlock.

Ashton will also miss the last match of the season against Kendal Town on Easter Monday and the play-off semi-final on Thursday 28th April, if we qualify.

Manager Karl Marginson: "We’re obviously disappointed as we felt we had good grounds for an appeal but we have to get on with it. I’ve every confidence in Grant Shenton to step in and do the job."

The club submitted video evidence, supplied by FCUM.TV, to the FA in the hope that the straight red card for violent conduct may be rescinded but to no avail.
