Reds aim for three in a row

Manager Karl Marginson is likely to start with the same side for the third game running as the Reds look to make it three wins out of the last three when they host Kendal Town at Gigg Lane tonight.

United have scored nine goals on their way to claiming six points in their last two outings so Margy has signalled his intentions to stick with the team that destroyed Ossett Town 4-0 and Witton Albion 5-3.

Margy said: "I feel our football this season has been the best we have played in our history and now the young lads here are starting to realise they can play at the higher level. We have dropped silly points but defensively have looked better since we brought in Danny Warrender and Simon Garner as full backs."

Adam Turner is expected to continue partnering captain David Chadwick at the centre of defence meaning Rob Nugent will have to wait for his first start of the campaign after undergoing knee surgery last month. Meanwhile, Chris Baguley and the Cardens, Adam and Simon are set to make up the midfield with Jerome Wright whilst Kyle Wilson will be looking to add to his incredible tally of 13 goals in 12 games. Carlos Roca will be hoping to catch up with his strike-partner after finally opening his account at Ossett in September.

Kendal have made a solid start to the season and currently sit in sixth place in the table. The Field, as they are known to many of their supporters due to starting out life as the Netherfield factory team, have six wins under their belts and four of them have come away from home.

Margy knows that they will present a tough task for his side to overcome but he confidently predicted: "If we can carry on playing the kind of football we have played in our last two games, few teams will live with us."

FC United versus Kendal Town is this Wednesday at Gigg Lane, kick-off 7.45pm. Get yourself to that football ground.
