Pan-Disability Football

This is a weekly session on Friday from 5pm to 6pm for young people aged 16 years and over. The sessions will encourage young people to take part in a fun active football session and will be overseen by our qualified coaches but will be informal and will give young people the opportunity to use the session however they feel comfortable. Whether that be an introduction to the game, to gain confidence socially or to improve their ability the session will cover all of these aspects.

We will provide the facility and equipment for the players to create their own games to work on a ball individually. In the long term, if there are sufficient players that are looking to improve their game and play competitively, we may form an FC United Disability Football team from the group and affiliate them under FC United of Manchester. This team would play regular fixtures in the Greater Manchester Ability Counts Football League (GMACFL).

The Manchester Football Association has offered £500 funding to commence these sessions. The first session will be free of charge and then each player will be charged £2 per session.

Kickers Academy

The Kickers Academy will run for ten weeks from 10th January 2017 and will take place in the sports hall at the Co-Operative Academy of Manchester in Higher Blackley. The session will take place every Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm and will be available for 6 to 8 year old children. The first session is free with subsequent sessions costing only £3.

The aim of the sessions will be to introduce children to the game and encourage them to work on their individual skills and technique. The children will participate in the sessions in a fun, safe environment that will give them the opportunity to socialise, gain confidence and develop their football ability.

For those that want to play regular competitive football there is an opportunity to progress to our local junior partner club, Moston Juniors Football Club, whose youngest team is an under 7 side.

Diane Modahl Sports Foundation

This session for young people from 14 to 21 years of age takes place every Tuesday at Broadhurst Park from 5pm to 6.30pm and is free of charge. The North Manchester Sports and Activity Forum secured the funding from the Diane Modahl Sports Foundation (DMSF) to ensure the session can be hosted for free. The DMSF is a charity that works with young people from disadvantaged areas across the north west of England to enable them to make the most of themselves in sport, school and life.

For the first hour of each session the participants will be on the 3G pitch at Broadhurst Park taking part in fun based football sessions. During these sessions they will learn new tricks, skills and take part in small sided games. Participants will also be encouraged to come up with their own games and take ownership of the sessions whilst being overseen by our coaches.

The final half hour of each session will be held in the community cabin and will give participants the opportunity to play on games consoles, take part in arts and crafts and generally socialise with other players and our coaches.

Abraham Moss

We deliver a football session for children of 11 to 15 years of age at Abraham Moss Leisure Centre every Thursday. These sessions involve FC United coaches providing training for a team that plays under the Abraham Moss banner.

We also deliver a football session at Abraham Moss Leisure Centre every Friday evening from 5pm to 7pm for children aged 6 to 11 years old with a further session from 7pm to 9pm for young people aged 12 years and over. The sessions are supported by the North Manchester Sports and Activity Forum and are designed to reduce incidences of anti-social behaviour in the Crumpsall area on Friday evenings.
