FC United of Manchester is excited to announce a new partnership with Fanbase who will become the club’s new digital ticketing partner from the 2024/25 season. The move to a digital ticketing platform has been a priority for the club for some time, with the current season ticket, membership and match day admission process largely resembling the arrangements at our formation in 2005.
Danny Davis, FC United General Manager said: “We’ve been working on a digital solution for our ticketing needs for some time and I’m delighted to announce this partnership with Fanbase. They’re the preferred ticketing partner for the Northern Premier League and we believe they understand the culture of match-going fans at this level. The feedback we received from those who took part in the trial was resoundingly positive and this new system should bring greater efficiency for our staff and volunteers, allow the club to engage with our match-going fans and provide a much-improved fan experience for all who attend our games.”
Jerome McCarthy from Fanbase commented: “We know FC United care deeply about the experience they offer their fans so we’re delighted that they’ve chosen Fanbase as their partner going forward. We can’t wait to help the team behind the scenes offer an excellent experience to their fans, members and owners that support this very special football club”.
Our operation currently requires a large amount of manual work to process and distribute memberships and season tickets and without the tireless dedication of our team of volunteers the club would not be able to carry out this function in a timely way which would be acceptable to season ticket holders and co-owners. In addition, our match day ticketing operations are largely based on manual recording via the turnstiles.
In addition, the club struggles to access the data required for targeted marketing campaigns, this move should provide the information the club needs to become smarter at how we promote our match days. Our community programme will also benefit from better monitoring of our complimentary tickets to local community groups and help to ensure those season tickets kindly donated by supporters are used to their maximum.
Fanbase are an experienced operator of football ticketing at our level and are the preferred ticketing partner of the Northern Premier League. The level of knowledge and support offered throughout the process has been fantastic and we believe this will turn out to be a positive step forward for how the club operates
The club conducted two digital ticketing trials during our 2023/24 Fenix Trophy games and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive with no major concerns logged with the club. We believe this move will improve the purchasing experience for supporters, especially the new and younger supporters we wish to attract in the coming years.
The platform works across web, mobile and app in which purchases of season tickets, memberships and match tickets can be purchased. These purchases sit within the your Fanbase wallet and can be scanned at the turnstiles to allow entry into the ground. At the point of purchase, supporters will be asked whether they require a physical season ticket or membership card to be created, ensuring those that need the physical option still have the availability.
FC United is committed to being accessible for all, for this reason we would like to provide some reassurance to those who may be anxious about the move to a digital ticketing system:
The new system for season ticket and membership purchases will be launched next week and will replace the current system through the FC United website. When making your first purchase, you will be asked to make a Fanbase account – this will create a profile where all your future purchases will be stored and your tickets will be accessible from.
Those supporters who have already purchased a season ticket through the current system will automatically receive a physical season ticket. Those supporters who purchase once the system has been launched will have the option to choose a preference for a physical season ticket.
Existing membership numbers will be retained and future membership numbers created via our centralised membership system.
We have created a guide for using Fanbase for the first time here.
With only two weeks until our friendly campaign comes to Broadhurst Park, we are delighted to launch the new ticketing agreement with the option to purchase advance tickets for our upcoming fixtures:
