FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester Badge FC United of Manchester Pitch In

1 year, 12 months, 365 days...

As I sit in my usual match day spot overlooking the green grass, I’m pondering .the last 12 months and trying to think of the words that describe this year.  I have re-written this quite a few times as someone said to me, write it from the heart, so here we go….

Acceptance – I have to say a huge thank you to the members and fans, football isn’t an easy industry to work in, there are so many highs and lows!  However, I feel you have accepted me and I cannot thank you enough.

Leadership – I was completely blown away when I was asked to be the CEO of the Club – thanks, this means a lot!

Challenge – I can’t say it has been easy and I don’t expect it to be, what I will say is that we do love a challenge at FC!

Happiness – 2pm or 3pm on a weekend – that’s all.

Community – My favourite part of this club. The possibilities are endless and we are only just getting started!  We have been successful with a number of grants over the last three months which means we will have more sports camps, women and girls’ activities, recreational activities and a programme of social activities for older people.  Our mission remains the same to drive education, social cohesion and community value.

Equality – I am and will always be incredibly passionate and focussed on this area of football.

I always believe in team work and success together, to date I am really proud of how we have performed;

  • A new business plan that drives the Club, a thriving community programme, commercial activity that has never been seen before, with football at the heart of everything we do.
  • New faces within the Club that have been incredibly successful so far.
  • The PINK goes from strength to strength each week, thank you for all your positive comments.
  • We became the first women’s club to sign up to Fair Game, which is striving for equality in football. I won’t stop until we accept it's “just football, not men’s not women’s, just football”.
  • I think we have said everything we need to about Pretty Little Thing – the team behind this partnership deserve all the accolades.
  • Sell out match day dining – however more importantly, providing more catering options for our fans on match days, (more vegan options to come!).
  • And much more……

Lastly, thank you to the whole team, on and off the field, let’s keep it going, we achieved this together in 12 months, what can we do in another 12?

Thanks
