With FC United not in action this midweek, supporters might like to attend Mossley versus Skelmersdale where all the gate receipts will go towards Ashton United’s High Court appeal.
A couple of weeks ago, the official website highlighted Ashton United’s battle to overturn a
landmark ruling which has left the club facing bankruptcy.
This Tuesday, Mossley are taking on Skelmersdale in a match played at Ashton United’s Hurst Cross ground and all money taken at the turnstiles will be donated towards funding the appeal.
A spokesperson for Mossley said: "In recent months, Ashton have been very generous in offering us the use of Hurst Cross for evening matches after our floodlights were deemed unsafe. We at Mossley AFC have greatly appreciated the support Ashton have given our club, without this offer we would have been unable to continue."
It is hoped that there will be a good turn out and a show of support for Ashton as this ruling could have financial implications for all non-league clubs.
Tuesday’s match kicks off at 7.45pm and everyone is welcome.
