In keeping with traditions going back almost 50 years, FC United is delighted to announce the club is releasing a song to mark our appearance in this season’s Manchester Premier Cup Final on Thursday 4th May and we need your help to make it happen.
Older supporters will know that football clubs regularly used to record singles to mark cup final appearances in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. As firm believers in keeping traditions alive, the club has decided mark our first cup final appearance since 2008 in a similar fashion.
As we all know, Manchester has a rich musical history and Manchester United has recorded numerous enjoyable songs over the years. But there is one record that stands out for many of us as one of the best football songs of all time – The Anfield Rap recorded by Liverpool FC before their 1988 FA Cup Final defeat to Wimbledon.
As such, we will be recording a re-make of that classic song under the title of ‘The Broadhurst Brap’ with local grime artist, Droylsden Dave. What’s more, we are delighted to announce that some members of Liverpool’s 1988 FA Cup Final squad have agreed to feature in the re-make of both the song and the accompanying video.
We are also looking for supporters to feature in the project, especially supporters who can rap better than Karl Marginson and/or play musical instruments. If interested please email:

To celebrate this historic partnership, the former Liverpool players will be paraded on the pitch at halftime of Saturday’s match against Stalybridge Celtic with their FA Cup runners up medals and there will also be half and half FC United and Liverpool friendship scarves available at the Mega Stall.
All being well, the single will be available from the Mega Stall in two weeks’ time at the Brackley Town home match at the special souvenir price of £2.50 with all proceeds going to the development fund.
Please help us get The Broadhurst Brap into the official UK Top 40 Charts. Thank you for your continued, loyal support.
