We are aware of the announcement from the Northern Premier League earlier today regarding the postponement of Blyth Spartans’ fixture against Gainsborough Trinity this Saturday, the subsequent statement from Blyth Spartans, and the wider issues at the club which have been previously reported.
We received match arrangements from Blyth Spartans ahead of our fixture next Tuesday (22nd), in which they advised that pay-on-the-gate entry will be cash only, and that supporters wishing to pay by card would need to purchase a ticket in advance via the club website.
At this stage, we cannot say with any certainty that the issues which have led to the postponement of Saturday’s fixture will be resolved by Tuesday. Accordingly, we advise our supporters not to purchase tickets online until we receive further clarity regarding the likelihood of Tuesday’s fixture going ahead. We also advise supporters not to make travel arrangements that are non-refundable at this stage.
We will endeavour to update supporters as and when we receive further information on this situation.
Finally, we would like to express our sympathy with the loyal supporters of Blyth Spartans at what is clearly a challenging time for them and their club.
