We had a heart warming 901 tickets sold by the "out in all kinds of weather" Pound for the Ground team at the Chorley game last Saturday and ticket number 520 was drawn out of the drum at half time. The winning ticket holder, who is an FC regular, claimed the £200 almost immediately and kindly donated £100 towards the barrel collection. £701 has gone straight into the Development Fund account.
Not only did the Chorley game winner give us £100 for the barrels, but the winner of the North Ferriby draw, who collected his winnings on Saturday, also put £100 in to the barrels. A regular contributor rocked up with £70 in 50ps and 20ps, ensuring a flying start to the collection. When the barrels were emptied there was another £137 in coins and small bags of change, making a total of £407 for the day.
The running total for the season is a massive £5,636.
There was also some euros and a plethora of foreign notes which will be checked out and swapped for the next collection.
A tremendous effort from all who contributed and many thanks. We have dedicated team of sellers and buckateers who turn up week after week, but please don’t feel in any way pressured to donate or buy from them. We are all only able to give what we can when we can, and if we stick together, then some day soon we will start to build our football ground.
