Our community team are investigating whether we can host young people from overseas as part of our developing community programme and we are trying to gauge what interest there might be among FC United fans and members in hosting a young person (or maybe even more than one). Expenses may be available.
The young people will fall into two types;
1. Young people aged 16-18 who come over to Manchester for a relatively short period of not more than 6 weeks.
2. Older people aged 19-25 who might come for a few months to do voluntary work with FC United.
Hosts could say they wanted to host just one category or both.
Hosts would be required to;
- Provide good quality food (breakfast and evening meal) and assist with preparing a packed lunch
- Provide a good quality bedroom – all guests would need their own room
- Provide opportunities for relaxation – TV etc
- Be hospitable and help young people to experience life in our wonderful city
- Provide some support with getting around Manchester and getting to FC United matches – this could mean lifts or it could mean help with public transport
Hosts will have to go through an inspection system, undergo a CRB check and provide references.
If you think you might be interested, please can you email
office@fc-utd.uk and say how many rooms you have and where you live.
