MACCLESFIELD FC ACADEMY 2nds 3 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 5
FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team came from behind to record a fine 5-3 away Friday development win against Macclesfield FC Academy 2nds on the Moss Rose ground on Friday afternoon.
This was despite going two goals down in the early stages. On 4 minutes, Macclesfield took the lead through one of their two No. 14s after a corner hadn't been properly cleared, and the same player then made it two-nil on 7 minutes, as he headed home from a free kick.
On the stroke of half time, FC United pulled one back. RAFA JALO blasting home a fierce, deflected shot, from a Josh Bergman corner kick.
Half time substitute FRANKIE PITT, making a rare outfield appearance, then collected a Rafa Jalo cross on 49 minutes before coolly netting an equaliser, before Macclesfield regained the lead on 59 minutes when their No. 9 collected a wayward crossfield pass before firing home via the underside of the crossbar.
But the Young Reds were by no means out of the contest, and on 78 minutes, drew level again, Frankie Pitt finding GOLD BADMUS who was able to steer the ball home from close range.
The visitors from Manchester then edged in front on 85 minutes when an unmarked LEWIS URSA gathered the ball before rounding the Macclesfield 'keeper to make it 4-3, and the FC United comeback was complete when GOLD BADMUS collected a long through ball from Serigne Ndiaye for a fifth goal in the fourth minute of time added on, for 5-3.
