FC United of Manchester Youth team hosted a youthful Oldham Athletic XI in an end of season friendly match on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon, recording a 5-1 home win.
GOLD BADMUS opened the scoring for the Young Reds on 14 minutes as he headed home Iaia Balde's floated right wing cross.
On 65 minutes, IAIA BALDE then made it 2-0 as he steered a curling effort past the Oldham 'keeper from just inside the area.
The visitors then countered with a fine goal on 67 minutes through ZINEDINE TIETZ, a low shot that flashed past home 'keeper Alfie Martine.
Oldham were still very much in contention at this stage, and so it took a third goal for FC United on 84 minutes, converted by IAIA BALDE from the penalty spot after Emmanuel Johnson had been fouled, to thwart any hopes of a comeback.
A second, maybe not so clear cut penalty award on 86 minutes, again converted by IAIA BALDE, this time after a foul on Alex Canning, made it 4-1, and there was still time for NOEL JUNG to add a fifth on 87 minutes following a solo run at goal which went unchallenged.
