FC United’s academy team lifted the ECFA North West Men’s Category 2B league championship with a game in hand with this 3-1 away victory against Lancaster & Morecambe College LMC Men’s 1sts on Monday afternoon.
Once again, the young Reds had to come back from going a goal down, when Jordan Jewitt’s low shot gliding under goalkeeper Will Shawcross and into the net on 41 minutes.
Two minutes before half-time, JACK WARD equalised for the FC United academy team with a curling free-kick (this after Cameron Horner had been fouled on the edge of the penalty area) to make the half-time score 1-1.
Into the second half, and with 11 minutes remaining, JACK WARD put FC United’s academy team in front for the first time with a shot into the roof of the net.
On 88 minutes, CAMERON HORNER ran in on goal from a Jack Ward through pass to net from close range to make sure of the final result, 3-1 in favour of FC United’s academy team.
