FC United’s academy team recorded a fifth consecutive home win against Lancaster & Morecambe College LMC Men’s 1sts on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday morning in their latest game in the ECFA North West Men’s Category 2B league.
But it wasn’t plain sailing for the academy team after Charlie Skyrme’s 17th minute effort had given the visitors a one goal interval lead.
Into the second half, and the academy team eventually pulled level on 63 minutes when Jude Gilbert netted after Charlie Sykes had seen his shot parried by the visiting ’keeper.
A minute later, Darius Palma made it 2-1 when he teed the ball up before firing the ball home from the edge of the area.
And Charlie Sykes added a third for the FC United academy team on 71 minutes when he netted from a Dominik Williams centre to make the final score 3-1.
