AFC FYLDE YOUTH 2 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 1
FC United of Manchester Youth team went down to a narrow 1-2 away defeat against AFC Fylde Youth on the Mill Farm 3G on Wednesday afternoon in the National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division.
The Coasters opened the scoring on 31 minutes after Jan Palinkas had upended home substitute Cameron Hollywood inside the eighteen yard box. HOLLYWOOD picked himself up to place his spot kick wide of Tom Bamber in the FC United goal.
On 52 minutes, FC United of Manchester grabbed an equaliser. A long clearance from goalkeeper Tom Bamber bounced invitingly for SAM IWEGBU to loft the ball from the edge of the area over Ryan Garner and into the AFC Fylde goal.
The next goal was going to prove crucial, and with FC United pressing for a possible second, it was AFC Fylde who broke away on 57 minutes and RORY KELLY took full advantage to steer the ball past Tom Bamber and go 2-1 up.
And despite Kane Stockley and Dillon Kirkman both going close for the visitors in the closing stages, it was AFC Fylde who held firm to take all three points on offer.
FC United of Manchester Youth are next in action on Wednesday 10th October 2018 with a National League u19 Alliance League Cup tie away against City of Liverpool Youth.
