FC sign left-back Caleb Richards on loan
We are delighted to welcome left-back Caleb Richards to the club on loan from Norwich City until 6th January 2019.
The Salford-born defender joined Norwich from Blackpool this summer and has started 10 matches for Norwich’s under-23 squad so far this season.
Richards, who turned 20 on 8th September, got a brief taste of first-team football last season when he came on as a late substitute for Blackpool during a 2-1 loss at Wigan in the League Cup first round. He also started a 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough U21s in the Checkatrade Trophy group stages and won the Player of the Round award for his performance at right-back.
Caleb will be available for selection for tomorrow’s match away at York, and provides an ideal replacement for loanee Lewis Thompson who was recently recalled by Blackburn having played 14 times for the Reds this season.
Manager Neil Reynolds said; "I am delighted to acquire the services of Caleb Richards. He will be a fantastic addition to the squad. I would like to thank Norwich for their support and professionalism for allowing FC United to provide Caleb this opportunity to help his career progress. Caleb met up with the team on Thursday night at training and will go straight into the squad for the away trip at York on Saturday. I am looking forward to working with Caleb; I am sure he will do well."
Caleb is a Man United supporter and has watched them since the age of five. To get to know a little bit more about Caleb, watch the video below of an interview with Norwich City in the summer.
