FC United vs. Winterthur: Match Preview

This weekend sees football return to Broadhurst Park for the first time this summer.

We welcome FC Winterthur to Moston for an international friendly.

FCUM have so far played two friendlies against Winterthur out in Switzerland and we are very excited to finally return the favour.

Dubbed, “The True Spirit of Football???, this is the third encounter with our Swiss friends and one, which will hopefully live up to the billing.

It’s been an exciting few weeks for the club with new signings and the away trip - and win - at Salzburg in Austria. Tom Greaves now looks to avenge last years narrow 4-2 away defeat at the Stadion Schützenwiese.

The visitors endured a rather difficult 17/18 season last year as they finished in 9th position, just one place above the relegation spot, in the Challenge League.

Despite this, they come into Friday’s game in fine form after three consecutive pre-season victories.

All in all, it is finely poised for yet another engrossing international friendly at Broadhurst Park and one not to be missed.

Over the course of the weekend, there will be other events taking place at Broadhurst Park to coincide with the weekend of the World Cup Final, including friendlies for both the First Team and Women’s Team, and the return of the FC United Beer Festival, which is fast becoming a seasonal club tradition.

Season Tickets and Memberships for the new season will also be available prior to kick-off at the office and membership stall.
