Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported the Missing Matches campaign so far. Your generosity has been nothing short of incredible, providing a lifeline during what has been one of the toughest winters the club has faced.
Unfortunately, with another game recently lost in December to a postponement since the campaign was launched, we’ve had no choice but to increase the campaign target to £30,000. We know this is a big ask, but we also know what this club means to every single one of us. Together, we can get through this.
Postponed matches aren’t just a matter of rearranging dates—they come at a real cost. Games moved to midweek simply don’t generate the same income as Saturday fixtures, often leaving us up to £10,000 short per game. Beyond ticket sales, we lose the vibrant energy of fans in the bar, the buzz in the club shop, and the financial stability those moments bring.
The postponement of that Warrington Rylands match in December highlights this. A festive Saturday fixture became a cold Tuesday night game in January, with attendance falling below 1,200. Despite tireless efforts from staff and volunteers to get the game on, the financial loss was clear.
That’s why we’re renewing our call for support. Whether it’s your first donation or an extra contribution, every single pound matters in helping us bridge this gap and move forward stronger. One thing that everyone can do is share this story on social media and help us get the word out there to more people.
This club is ours—built on the passion, commitment, and belief of every supporter. We don’t have a wealthy backer waiting in the wings. What makes FC United special is us.
If you love this club and can help, now is the time. Together, we’ll overcome this challenge and keep the spirit of FC United thriving.
Donate now to the Missing Matches campaign. Every contribution counts.
