On Saturday 23rd September FC United welcome Whitby Town to Broadhurst Park, in our eighth league game of the 2023-24 season.
Kick-off: 3:00pm
Junior United Football Funday
Pre-match will also see a number of activities for junior football teams outside the ground and on the 3G pitch. The activities will run 12:30pm – 2:30pm and will involve football challenges, penalty shootouts and much more. In addition, there will be face painting, hair chalk stalls, fairground rides, sweet stall and an ice cream van to hopefully make the most of some late summer sun.

The two teams
The two sides are neck and neck in the league table both sitting on 12 points after 7 games, with Whitby a place above FC in 8th due to a superior goal difference. Whitby have a decent record at Broadhurst Park, coming away with 4 points over the previous 2 seasons. The 3rd highest goal scorers in the division, The Seasiders will be looking to add to their 16 league goals so far in 2023-24.
Neil and his team will no doubt be looking to put the FA Cup disappointment behind them and kick on in the league. Recent good form has given the Reds a good base to build on and a 5th home league win in a row could lift the team into the playoff positions. Michael Donohue and Charlie Munro are coming back to match fitness and will hopefully feature.
Which Whitby born footballer has been a European Championship Golden Boot winner, named BBC Sports Personality of the Year and Ballon d’Or runner up? Read till the end to find out.
