Alfie has numerous roles at the club, including PA announcer, assistant kitman and social media report. He said: “I love every minute I spend at FC United. I've been given so many opportunities that I’m so grateful for. I volunteer because I love the club and it means so much to me and my family.”

Alfie’s mum and dad, Sam and Dan, also volunteer at the club. Sam said: “FC United has done so much for us as a family. There’s something for everyone at the club and everyone is welcome – even our dog Alan is a regular!”

FC United’s Community Manager Jennie Swarbrick believes that Youth United Day is integral part of the club’s ethos of and founding principles.

She said: “Youth United Day provides young people with a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of a live match day free of charge. It’s not just about football though, it’s a chance for young people to connect with their local community, get a taste of what the club stands for, and be part of a positive, inclusive environment.”

Nine-year-old junior member Orfeas Giagoudaki explained why he likes being part of the club. He said: “I like singing in the stands with my dad, and also having my photo taken with the players after the match.”
