Match Report
The U18’s were happy to visit the new Weavers Stadium to face Nantwich albeit an unusual midweek fixture. Nantwich’s cup commitments meant that the game had to be moved from it’s original date.
A bright and energetic Nantwich side had the better of both halfs with the FC lads seeming to struggle to get to grips with the surface, weather and late night. With few clear chances in the first half the game came to life for all the wrong reasons in the second half when Vidal Mike was sent off for reacting to an off the ball incident.
Down to 10 men the FC lads struggled to contain a bouyant Nantwich side, but nantwich failed time and again to convert their chances.
Eventually with time running out and the game heading for a stalemate Nantwich got the late, late winner with a specualtive long range effort that caught FC’s keeper Jake Edwards off his line.
