GUISELEY AFC ACADEMY 2 FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 3
FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team recorded a fine 3-2 away pre-season win when they travelled to Ilkley on Wednesday afternoon to play their counterparts from Guiseley AFC.
JOSA OSA-ONI opened the scoring for the visitors on 26 minutes, when he steered home a Charlie Burke pass into the corner of the Guiseley net.
Two minutes later, it was 2-0 when a 35 yard effort from KHADIM THIAM floated over the Guiseley AFC ’keeper and into the net.
After having twice rattled the goal frame, the home side pulled one back on 38 minutes when SEBASTIAN M’POUSSU converted a cross from the left.
And on the stroke of half-time, ROBBIE FOX scored from close range to make the half-time score 2-2.
Into the second half, and with both sides looking for a winner, it was FC United’s captain DYLAN BLACKLEDGE who got it on 70 minutes, being first to react after Caleb Adenuga’s effort had come off the crossbar.
And although the Guiseley AFC Academy team threatened an equaliser in the dying minutes, the Young Reds nevertheless held on for a deserved win.
