FC United of Manchester Youth’s last-but-one scheduled home National League u19 Alliance fixture of the 2019-2020 season saw the Young Reds go down by one goal to two against City of Liverpool FC Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Friday afternoon.

The visitors opened the scoring on just 4 minutes when the ball was crossed in low from the right and RYAN MASON got across his man before steering the ball past Mason Walker in the FC United goal.

On 13 minutes, City of Liverpool Youth added a second. The home defence failed to clear their lines properly and OWEN LEWIS was on hand to force the loose ball home.

Seven minutes before half-time, FC United pulled one back. This time it was the visitors who failed to clear allowing CONNOR MELLING to score at the far post.

That proved to be the end of the scoring as City of Liverpool Youth held on to their narrow lead in the second half to take home all three points.

Following an announcement on Monday 16th March 2020, FC United of Manchester Youth team’s remaining three National League u19 Alliance fixtures have now all been suspended until further notice.

As at the date of suspension, the FC United of Manchester Youth team were in sixth place (of 12) in the National League u19 Alliance ’H’ Division with seven wins, three draws and nine defeats from their nineteen league games.

Mason Beard was FC United of Manchester Youth team’s top league goalscorer with 14 goals, Zaid Baroudi was in second place with 6 goals and Connor Melling was on 5 goals.
