On 23 minutes, the Young Reds drew level, CALEB ADENUGA going on a solo run, before placing the ball past the Chorley ’keeper from just four yards out.

Three minutes later, and the visitors were back in front as HENRY SMITH netted from close range.

On 37 minutes, FC United drew level again, CONNOR MELLING applying the final touch after the ball had been ricocheting around the Chorley penalty area.

And on 40 minutes, FC United went in front for the first time in the match, Kevin Zokou’s clever pass finding Charlie Burke who quickly laid the ball off to ZAID BAROUDI who made no mistake from the edge of the goal area.

That made the score 3-2 at the half-time interval and in a second half of few chances, KEVIN ZOKOU made sure of the result on 87 minutes with a low shot that somehow evaded the grasp of Chorley’s otherwise impressive ’keeper Oliver Horrocks before edging over the line.
