FC United of Manchester's Youth team made the trip to Silverlands, Buxton, to face the Bucks' youth team on Wednesday morning, in the latest in a series of end-of-season challenge matches.
When the National League u19 Alliance Division 'H' league programme had been curtailed earlier in the year, the Young Bucks had been sitting undefeated at the top of the table, so it was perhaps no surprise when they took the lead on 36 minutes, a low shot from JOHN OJEWUMI finding a way past Josh Brooks in the FC United goal.
Just three minutes later, the Young Reds were back on level terms, SHERIFF KABBA latching onto a Toby Humphries free kick to slot home the equaliser.
On 58 minutes, Christian Edokpayi was unlucky to see a shot tipped wide by the home 'keeper.
The missed opportunity was to prove crucial, as Buxton regained the lead on 62 minutes, as JACK DILLINGHAM finished from close range.
And the same player, JACK DILLINGHAM, made sure of the result on 69 minutes, with a dipping 25 yarder which gave FC United substitute 'keeper Lenny Fieldhouse little chance in the visitors' goal.
