Youth United Day is an annual event designed to encourage young people to experience our unique match day atmosphere for free and an opportunity to enjoy what the club has to offer.
FC United is a supporter-owned, not-for-profit, semi-professional, community football club. In 2025, FC United will celebrate 20 years since it was formed in 2005 by Manchester United supporters. It will also celebrate 10 years since the club built its own ground in Moston, North Manchester.
When the club was formed it set out to “create a sustainable club for the long term, which is owned and democratically run by its members, which is accessible to all the communities in Manchester and one in which they can participate fully.” It also set out seven core principles of how the club operates.
One of the core principles was that “The club will encourage young, local participation – playing and supporting – wherever possible.” Ever since its first season, FC United has hosted “Youth United Day”.
Families: FC United is a family orientated club. Youth United Day provides an opportunity for all the family to enjoy an affordable day out in a safe environment. It’s a opportunity for children, parents and grandparents to experience live football together. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
14 to 21 year olds: Youth United Day provides you and your mates with a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon out, for free. You can sit or stand where you want and get involved in the matchday atmosphere.
FC United Junior Members: FC has over 330 Junior Members, who get involved and enjoy a range of activities throughout the season. For Youth United Day, we would like as many Junior Members as possible to form a guard of honour to welcome the players onto the pitch. If you are a Junior Member and wish to take part please email chris.boulderstone@fc-utd.uk
FC United fans 14 to 21: We have a growing number of young supporters, many whom were previously Junior Members. This day is for you. It’s also an opportunity to invite your friends along to showcase your club and what you get up to on a Saturday afternoon.
FC United Academy, Under 17s and Under 21 teams: We would like to welcome all our junior players who represent the club to attend and be involved in Youth United Day.
Local Junior Football Clubs that train and play at Broadhurst Park: There are a number of junior football clubs that train and play on our 3G Pitches every week. Youth United Day is an opportunity for these teams to come inside the main stadium and watch a live football match, free of charge. We encourage all junior football teams to turn up in your team colours. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an appropriate number of coaches and parents. We recommend having at least two adults present when supervising children, and would advise there is at least one adult to every 6 children.
Other Local Junior Football Clubs: We would like to extend our invitation to any local football teams to enjoy a day of live football at FC United. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an appropriate number of coaches and parents. We recommend having at least two adults present when supervising children, and would advise there is at least one adult to every 6 children.
Local Sports Clubs and Community Groups: We’d also like to extend our welcome to all local sports clubs and community groups that engage with young people. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an appropriate number of coaches and parents. We recommend having at least two adults present when supervising children, and would advise there is at least one adult to every 6 children.
Local Schools and Colleges: We’d love to welcome pupils from all the local schools and colleges to attend the match and enjoy Youth United Day. Children under the age of 14 years old must be accompanied by an responsible adult.
Manchester Youth Zone: Over 4,000 young people are members of and are engaged in activities held at Manchester Youth Zone in nearby Harpurhey. The Youth Zone was built in 2012, just three years before FC United built its own ground in Moston. We’d love to see as many young people from Manchester Youth Zone attend Youth United Day. Children under the age of 14 years old must be accompanied by an responsible adult.
Young supporters from Matlock Town: Every time FC United play at Matlock Town there always seems to be an abundance of young people, whether representing their junior football teams or simply supporting their local team. Youth United Day provides young fans of Matlock Town to experience a family friendly away match.
Football Activities: Between 1pm and 2pm on the 3G Pitch opposite the main Stadium, coaches from Moston Juniors will run a range of football activities for children.
Pre-Match Dining experience is available for all the family.

FC United’s Junior Members will form a guard of honour to welcome the players onto the pitch.
