Player Profile

Ollie Martin is a former player in the Manchester City academy, as well as completing a two year scholarship with Fleetwood Town FC, captaining the Youth team in his second year. As a first year scholar he was heavily involved with the first team, before subsequently making his first team squad debut making the bench in early 2013. After being released from Fleetwood, Oliver signed for Conference North side Stalybridge Celtic, staying there for almost a year, before joining on the LFE Erasmus+ program, therefore signing for Swedish Club Ange IF. Since returning home, Oliver signed for New Mills AFC, before joining Mossley FC two seasons later. He joins FC following two very successful seasons at Radcliffe, where he kept 33 clean sheets in 90 appearances and he clinched both promotion and the Young Player of the Year award in the 18/19 season, and has kept an impressive 33 out of 90 clean sheets in his time there. After being released in mid-April by Radcliffe, he was a player that was of interest to many clubs. Upon joining FC, Ollie said "Very happy to be coming to FC United of Manchester, I loved playing at Broadhurst Park and cannot wait to get involved with the new season, thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and see you all soon" Neil Reynolds announced his signing live on FCUM Radio and he said "We had a vacancy for the #1 shirt and I’m a big big admirer of Ollie, I have been watching him both playing against FC and going to their games and the thought of getting him to FC United is really exciting. I got to talk to Ollie about an offer and it wasn’t the offer he was looking for but we sold him the club, and he came back to us and said he’d be delighted to take the opportunity to join us, it’s been a long term ambition for him so we’ve done a virtual handshake over the phone, and I’m delighted to secure a new #1 who I’m sure will be a fans favourite next season"
