Walking Football

We have a growing band of walking footballers of all ages and sexes and everybody is welcome to join the weekly sessions on Mondays or Wednesday evenings at 7pm-8pm on the 3G Pitch at Broadhurst Park.





Mondays tends to be quicker and Wednesdays more sociable. Mondays sessions cost £3 and Wednesdays currently cost £5 as we have lower numbers but this cost will reduce as numbers increase.

FCUM v Nash Ramblers Saturday 27th January

Prior to the FC v Curzon Ashton match on Saturday 27th January we have been challenged to a friendly match v their Walking Football team (Nash Ramblers) on the 3G pitch. (time to be confirmed).

The agreement is that it’s to be an over 60’s match with an allowance of two 50+ players per side. The match will have a referee so “walking??? will be enforced. As it’s a friendly it’s not envisaged to be over competitive and we hope that it will be an enjoyable occasion for everybody.

FCUM v Vintage Celtic Friday 9th February ko 11am

A second friendly match is being arranged FCUM v Vintage Celtic and a date of Friday 9th February has been pencilled in with a 11am kick off.

Possible Walking Football League membership

We also have the opportunity to join a Greater Manchester Walking Football league for teams of players over 60. The matches would be played the 1st Thursday of the month:

1st February
1st March
5th April
3rd May

The matches would be played 11am -1pm at Heywood Sports village. In order to join this league we would need to register a team and be sure we have sufficient players to fulfil the fixtures

Walking Football Referees Course

We have been given the opportunity to send ONE individual to qualify as an accredited F.A. Walking Football Referee with certification. This will take place on a Monday and Friday afternoon in January at Curzon Ashton F.C. 12-30pm. to 4-30pm at a cost of £5 per afternoon per candidate. Total £10.00.Exact dates to be finalised soon.
