Vote now to name our new mascot and volunteer to wear the outfit

As part of our forthcoming 20th season celebrations, FC United is delighted to launch our first ever club mascot and we’re asking supporters to vote for its name.

We’re also looking for volunteers to wear the mascot outfit at all our home games next season. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps in children’s entertainment and/or show business.

History
When deciding what are new mascot would be, we were keen to represent the values and history of our club and our local area. Moston has a rich agricultural heritage, and once boasted one of the largest chicken farms in the country, and we’re one of the youngest clubs in the UK. As such, we’ve decided that a spring chicken is the perfect embodiment of our club and local community.

Eagle-eyed (or should that be hen-eyed?!) fans may have spotted our new mascot during its trial runs at our Community Day game against Basford last month and at Saturday’s match at Macclesfield.

The mascot went down really well with everyone who was asked for their opinion and the reaction on social media has been extremely positive.

Suggestions
We’re naturally conscious that our members should be consulted whenever we look to do something new, so we’re asking you to vote on a shortlist of names and also put forward your suggestions. The Board will then work with the Commercial and Communications Committees to decide the best name from your suggestions. Vote now!

Whoever’s suggestion is chosen will win a chicken dinner for two at our Match Day Dining at a game of your choice next season. We hope supporters are as excited as we are about this exciting new chapter in our club’s history.

A club spokesperson said: “It’s hoped that our new mascot will entertain our junior supporters whilst striking fear into the hearts of our opponents. With your support, we'll be unbeatable, hatch new opportunities, and lay the foundations for a brighter future!”
