Volunteer Opportunity: Finance Assistance Role at FC United

We are reaching out to share an exciting volunteer opportunity at FC United of Manchester. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Finance Assistant for 2-3 days per week based at Broadhurst Park.

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our club’s financial processes. As part of our team, you'll be working in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, contributing to the success of FC United and making a positive impact on our community. You'll have the chance to be involved in a club with a rich history and strong values, and to work in a dynamic and community-driven environment.

Below is an outline of the general accounts duties you would be responsible for:

General Accounts Duties:

• Raise Sales Invoices to deadline
• Post Purchase Invoices to deadline
• Deal with general accounts queries from customers and suppliers
• Keep all customer and supplier information up to date
• Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Chasing statements
• Handle supplier payments/disputes
• Credit applications
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns
• Close sales ledger by the 2nd of each month, ensuring internal procedures are followed
• Close purchase ledger by the 2nd of each month, ensuring internal procedures are followed
• Manage purchase and sales ledger processes
• Credit control, chasing on a weekly basis to meet cash flow targets
• Provide periodic reporting to management
• Process monthly payroll on Sage
• Reconcile credit card transactions
• Support annual audits
• Renew phone, energy, and insurance contracts
• Ensure all HQ deadlines are met during month-end periods

What We Need From You:

• Experience with a purchase order system
• Working knowledge of Sage 50
