On behalf of everyone at the club, the board would like to offer a sincere thanks to Rob Henry who is leaving the club.

Rob joined the club as Assistant Manager last November, coming to us from Lancaster City. Rob quickly became a well-respected member of the backroom team and impressed with his work ethic, tactical knowledge and dedication to the club. Rob worked with a number of players in his own time over summer, ahead of the official start of pre-season training, on strength and conditioning work – recognising the importance that fitness would play in the side this year.

Following the departure of Neil Reynolds a fortnight ago, Rob was asked to step in as interim manager alongside Charlie Ennis. Although it was a short spell in charge, he spearheaded a spirited performance against Macclesfield, with most observers believing we deserved at least a point against the league leaders, before signing off with a draw against Matlock Town on Saturday.

With new manager Mark Beesley bringing in his own assistant alongside him, that regrettably means that there isn’t a role for Rob as assistant in the new structure.

We thank Rob for his time here at Broadhurst Park, and we wish him the very best of luck in his future endeavours.
