Team news: FC United boosted by Donohue and the debutants

FC United have been boosted by the welcome return of midfielder Michael Donohue from suspension and two new signings who could make their debuts as we host Marine at three o'clock this Saturday.

Wales and former Preston North End midfielder Aaron Bennett has joined the club, following a spell at Warrington Town, and left-back Mikey Davies has joined on a month loan deal from Tranmere Rovers. Striker Jordan Buckley is also expected to be in the squad.

First team manager Neil Reynolds said: “Aaron is an atacking midfielder who comes with a great pedigree. A graduate of Preston North End’s Academy and capped for Wales at U19 level, he spent most of last season on loan at Altrincham, before making the move to Warrington Town in the summer. We’re delighted to have Aaron on board, and we think he’ll add another dimension to our play in the attacking third."

On Jones' signing, he added: “Mikey will give us some much-needed depth at the back. Mikey signed his first professional contract with Tranmere in the summer after coming through their Academy. He made his professional debut in the EFL Trophy last month, and we’re pleased that Rovers have put their trust in us to play a role in Mikey’s development."

Injury updates
Jan Palinkas received some good news from the doctors last week, and has been able to take the boot that he’s been having to wear off. It’s going to take a few weeks for him to get back to match fitness but we’re hopeful he’ll be able to return in January.

Aaron Morris started full training with the squad this week, which is another huge milestone in his recovery from injury. He’s made great progress already, and he should be ready to get playing again in the new year.

Departure
Striker Nic Bollado has left the club. Reynolds said: “Things weren’t really working out for Nic with Stockport, and he’s made the move back to the North East, signing with Morpeth Town. We hope this will be a positive move for Nic and his career and we wish him all the best.”

FC United of Manchester versus Marine is at the supporter-friendly time of three o'clock and it's pay on the gate - just as football should be. Get yourself to our football ground.
