Support Janet's epic 265-mile trek for FC United's Development Fund

A couple of seasons ago, Janet Machen raised over £1,000 for the Development Fund by doing a sponsored walk, covering 26 miles from Newton Heath to Gigg Lane via Old Trafford and then on to Broadhurst Park.

In June 2015 Janet will be going a step further. Many steps in fact. Janet will be walking the Pennine Way, once again to raise money for the FCUM Development Fund.

This epic adventure will start at Edale, Derbyshire, and follow the Pennines all the way to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders, 19 days and 268 miles later, and will involve 37,215 feet of ascent - and made all the more epic by the fact that Janet had a knee operation late last year.



Janet says “I love walking in the Pennines but haven’t been able to do much walking lately. FC United is my club and I can’t wait to get into Broadhurst Park. This year is the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Pennine Way. I’m going to mark the occasion by walking the full length of the Pennine Way to raise as much money as possible for FC and Broadhurst Park and hopefully, as well as challenging myself, having a great experience and not getting too lost or falling down any abandoned mine shaft in the process.???
