Trip and Falls Prevention programme
At FC United of Manchester, we strive to create a healthy, active, and connected community. We want all members to feel physically and mentally well, which is why we are delighted to support the delivery of our latest health and wellbeing programme, Stronger4Longer.
The sessions are delivered by Kathy from Morrisso Health CIC, one of our valued community partners, and are being provided in partnership with FC United of Manchester, with support from Manchester Active. Together, we are working to help local residents improve their strength, balance, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
A fall is defined as an event which causes a person to unintentionally come to rest on the ground or a lower level and is not the result of a major intrinsic event or overwhelming hazard. Falls can happen to anyone and are an unfortunate consequence of human anatomy, with the likelihood increasing as we become older or more physically fragile.
Through Kathy's expert-led strength and balance sessions, participants are improving their physical resilience and helping to reduce the risk of trips and falls. This is particularly important during the autumn and winter months when wet leaves, slippery paths, snow, and ice can increase the risk of accidents.
The Stronger4Longer sessions take place every Tuesday at 2:30pm in the FC United Community Gym and are open to all adults who would like to improve their strength, balance, and confidence. Whether you are looking to stay active, maintain your independence, or simply meet others in a welcoming environment, everyone is welcome to attend.
By working collaboratively with partners such as Morrisso Health CIC and with the support of Manchester Active, FC United continues to use the power of community sport and physical activity to improve health outcomes and help people lead healthier, more connected lives.
