FC United is pleased to confirm the signing of striker Tom Peers from Altrincham.
Having played for the likes of Nantwich Town, Chester, Salford City, Hednesford Town and New Orleans Jesters, Peers will now add competition for places up front.
The 23-year-old leaves Altrincham having scored 14 goals in 59 games, and will be available for selection for todays match against Blyth Spartans.
Manager Neil Reynolds said: “I’ve been a long admirer of Tom so I’m delighted to get him over the line and I know he can’t wait to get going for FC.
“He’s a big, strong boy and can look after the ball and he’s got quick movement off the ball as well. His goalscoring record in 59 games (for Altrincham) shows that he’s roughly a one in three man, and that’s with coming off the bench 29 times as well.
“If he gets a run of games and manages to convert one in three to two in three then we’ve got a real good number nine there.
Reynolds added: “We’ve got a great strike force but I’ve got an opportunity to strengthen the squad and Tom’s going to come in there and prove healthy competition and hopefully nail down that jersey that he wants and start scoring goals for FC.”
FC United can also confirm that Jamie Milligan has now signed up to be eligible to play in this afternoon’s match away to Blyth Spartans.
