Sporting Dinner and Opera Night - which one is for you

A Night at the Opera - Thursday 14th November

November 14th sees the next FC fundraising event. Following on from the successes of previous themed food nights, opera returns to FC.

FC United are proud to present internationally renowned opera singer Jennifer Coleman hosting a night of opera and fine food at one of Manchester’s finest venues Café Istanbul.

Classical soprano Jennifer is one of the rising stars of the opera world, whose breath-taking vocal artistry comes with an endearing, easy-going style that has allowed her to grace grand opera, TV and sporting arenas with ease.

As a soloist Jennifer has performed in recitals, concerts and competitions across the UK at venues including the O2 Arena, Emirates Stadium, the Bridgewater Hall, King George’s Hall, the Theatre Royal Windsor and most recently at Celtic Manor for the Football Conference. As a choral member Jennifer has sung at the Royal Albert Hall, the National Indoor Arena, the Lowry Theatre, the Royal Victoria Hall, and has been on a tour of Malta. Jennifer has won many competitions, including the Mavis Bennett Award for Grand Opera and the John Lightfoot Award for Musical Theatre at Maidenhead Music Festival. Her television credits include Channel 4’s series Hidden Talent, singing on BBC 2’s Let Me Entertain You, on the 2006 series of ITV1’s The X Factor (Auditions and the 16-24’s Boot-Camp), as a background artist on Hollyoaks, and most recently on BBC1 and Radio1 backing Andrea Bocelli for Children in Need Rocks at the MEN Arena.

Sporting Dinner - Friday 22nd November



Join United greats Sammy McIlroy, Carlo Sartori, Wilf McGuiness and Alan Wardle plus a surprise guest at the FC sporting dinner and relive great stories and anecdotes from United back in the day. All have some great recollections of their United careers and teammates.

There will be a Q&A plus photo opportunities with all speakers. Tickets are £30 and includes a three-course dinner (vegetarian option available.) This night will run in conjunction with Frost Foundation for local children and tickets will be in great demand so please book early. Fine food, a superb setting and a great selection of ales plus a chance to put your questions to a variety of United greats from over the years.
