FC United have been drawn away to Lancaster City or Chasetown in the second qualifying round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy on Saturday 31st October.
A late goal from Lancaster’s leading scorer Jordan Connerton meant that the Dolly Blues and Chasetown drew 1-1 at the Giant Axe on Saturday and will replay on Tuesday night with the winner hosting FC United.
United have been to Lancaster’s Giant Axe ground before on the opening day of the 2007/08 season and were unlucky to be defeated 2-1 as we made a slow start to the season which would end in play-off final glory. The Reds have never faced Staffordshire’s Chasetown.
Both of the opponents have the potential to provide a decent test for United as Lancaster currently sit fourth in the UniBond Division One North and The Scholars are sixth in the southern section.
