Supporters may remember at the start of the summer we set out some objectives for the coming season that would help us a deliver a budget that allowed us to keep ticket prices unchanged.
One of those objectives was to incorporate FC United supporters into the stewarding team at Gigg Lane. Supporters will know that stewarding costs are an essential but major drain on the clubs finances and any way that we can look to reduce them benefits us all.
A number of supporters answered the call and volunteered to be a steward, but a number of hurdles remained before we would be able to implement the scheme. However due to the fantastic co-operation of Bury and the security team at Gigg Lane, these hurdles have been overcome and we can begin to get volunteers trained up and make big savings.
We are therefore repeating our call for more supporters to get involved and would ask that anyone who is interested (even if it’s to find out a bit more of what’s involved) to meet at 1pm at Reception on Monday before the Boston game.
