FC United of Manchester is delighted to announce that the Manchester-based fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing will become our official women's and girls’ partner for 2023 in what is the biggest single sponsorship deal in the club’s history.
Female football has received a massive boost since the England women’s team won the Euro 2022 tournament last summer and PrettyLittleThing, based only a few miles from Broadhurst Park, approached the club to offer their support.
FC United’s women’s team are currently top of the North West Regional Women’s League and the club has ambitious plans to grow our women's and girls’ football in partnership with our education provider SCL and Moston Juniors. Plans are in the pipeline to launch a girls’ football programme in 2023 including Wild Cats for under 7’s and Squad Girls for teenagers, in addition to opening a female academy.
This partnership with PrettyLittleThing will help revolutionise our women's and girls' programme and provide much needed financial support to the club.
Speaking about the deal FC United’s Chief Executive Officer Natalie Atkinson said: “I am thrilled to confirm this partnership with PrettyLittleThing. We have been seeking a powerful female brand to endorse our women's and girls’ football and this partnership will help grow this area of our football club and transform the lives of young people within our community.”
While James Mulvihill, FC United’s women’s team manager said: “The girls and I are delighted to be sponsored by such a massive brand as PrettyLittleThing. To know we have their backing is a huge boost and hopefully will help us in our promotion push for the rest of the season.”
Meanwhile Nicki Capstick, Marketing Director at PrettyLittleThing said: “We are really excited to be sponsoring FC United this year. This is our first partnership of its kind and as the rise and interest in women’s football continues to increase, we couldn’t be prouder to be backing the team.”
In addition to supporting our women and girls’ football programme, PLT have also donated generously to our Big Coat Day campaign and have further supported our Christmas Cracker Holiday Activity Programme for young people. The impact we can make as a community organisation in terms of promoting physical activity, education, mental well-being and self esteem for women and girls is at the forefront of this partnership.
Dave Ashurst, FC United board member and also a member of the club’s Commercial Committee, said that “the board and Commercial Committee of FC United have provided a great deal of input into securing this partnership and ensuring this agreement aligns with our club values. This partnership will undoubtedly strengthen our football club and we are delighted to be working with PrettyLittleThing throughout 2023 and hopefully beyond.”
